Key Features
Industry-leading traceability and read reliability
In semiconductor manufacturing, losing track of a single wafer can be costly. Manufacturers need traceability tools that work every time, without fail.
The In-Sight 1750 automatically identifies each wafer as it moves through the production process, ensuring 100% traceability. This eliminates guesswork, manual tracking, and the expensive errors caused by wafer mix-ups.
These compact, self-contained readers install easily into new or existing production lines, delivering the reliable performance manufacturers need to keep operations running smoothly.
Advanced features ensure complete traceability
Illumination is essential for reliable reads on semiconductor and specialty substrates. The In-Sight 1750 uses specialized multi-mode illumination to generate clear bright field and dark field images, driving consistent, higher read rates across challenging surfaces. Enhanced RGB (Red, Green, Blue) lighting further improves contrast on substrates such as silicon (Si), gallium nitride (GaN), silicon carbide (SiC), sapphire, and glass — materials that often confuse generic lighting setups due to their reflectivity and transparency.
The In-Sight 1750 combines Edge AI OCR technology with proven rule-based font reading and code reading. Cognex code-reading algorithms are built on more than 20 years of semiconductor industry experience and thousands of wafer ID system installations worldwide. The result is a reliable, robust reading engine capable of handling ID marks degraded by the industry's most challenging conditions.
Wafer processing can degrade ID mark quality, making marks hard to read for humans and machine vision alike. An enhanced 2MP image sensor and expanded 38 mm wide field of view deliver improved image clarity and greater coverage for accurate wafer identification. Automatic image enhancement filters tackle even the toughest marks, and in extreme cases, transform a read failure into success, improving reliability, and eliminating the need for human intervention.
Wafer marks vary unpredictably across wafers, lots, and process conditions. AI autotune continuously adjusts lighting and image filters in real time, learning from each read to optimize future performance. Successful settings are saved automatically, so the reader adapts over time, sustaining high read rates without manual reconfiguration or operator intervention.
Built for wafer ID: clarity, recovery, and consistency in one reader
